The song is clearly about love and may very well be referring to love between couples, but I think it’s universal love too. I imagine the plane crashing on an island and the “couple” save the peoples’ lives out of love and the spinning globe spins because love is what keeps the world spinning round, while love is what makes the sun shine every morning
That’s exactly how I see this song! I once tried writing a poem similar to this, but I think this song fully grasp the meanings I was looking for.

the song, in my opinion, is about how people feel when they are in love. it’s such a powerful feeling that the couple can do and conquer anything. when people fall in love they have someone in the world who sees them in a different light. a larger than life kind of way.
