why would you pay that much for a webcam my laptop has better quality
not too impressed so far… so did you actually measure the 30 FPS or just read that off the box and drop the ‘upto’?
It can only handle 15 FPS at useful resolutions, and the max non-interpolated resolution is 1280×720.
160×120 – 30FPS
320×240 – 15FPS
640×480 – 15FPS
(MAX)1280×720 – 5FPS
The tracking is easy to confuse.
This discussion is totally useless and going nowhere, but I like thi fact, and I am replying again (for the last time tough): the comparison with canon eos 400d was referred to the fact it mounts a cmos sensor just like this webcam, hence you cannot say it’s crap just because of cmos vs ccd. Plus you get 2mp real resolution, motorized tracking, autofocus, stylish design and logitech brand. Not crap for 130USD.

err…. the canon eos 400d has a 10MP *CMOS* sensor, I wouldn’t say that’s crap…

I can get that kind of camera for the equivalent of 7 euro included shipping, sure it’s got light leds, but apart from that the 10MP is software interpolation of a real 640×480 resolution, you don’t get motorized tracking, nor carl zeiss optics, nor kick-ass drivers/utilities, nor logitech assistance… I’m gonna go for the 7euro webcam anyway, but at least I know what’s I’m missing out on

you can go on ebay and get a 10 mp with mic and cd for under 20 dollars
